Birthplace of Modern Mountaineering

The French, Swiss & Italian Alps offer a huge variety of climbing and skiing opportunities for beginners to experts. High altitude mountaineering on mixed rock, snow and ice routes, hut to hut ski tours, and pure rock climbing are all options here. Trips begin and end in mountain villages with great food and comfortable accommodations. There is also an extensive system of  rustic mountain huts throughout the region where climbers can stay between climbs or use as links for longer ski or mountaineering tours. The close proximity to different areas throughout the range and extensive mountain infrastructure allow us to plan itineraries with plenty of options for changing conditions in the mountains or revised objectives.

Chamonix_week.pdf Based in the epicenter of world alpine climbing, Chamonix, we will spend a week sampling some of the hundreds of world class alpine climbs in the Mt. Blanc Massif and the Aiguille Rouge. This is one of the most spectacular and easily accessed alpine environments on the planet. Trams and gondolas allow us to ascend high into the peaks with ease, leaving us time and energy to attempt challenging routes and return to the Chamonix Valley for French cuisine and a warm bed! This also allows us to acclimatize by staying high during the day, then sleeping low at night. We’ll culminate the week with a traverse of Mt. Blanc via the Trois Monts route, a long and challenging climb to the top of Western Europe.

Italy When we dream of paradise, we dream of Italy. There are three things we love most in life: family, outdoor adventures, and food. Italians love the same things, maybe in reverse order, but they have it figured out. 7 pitch limestone cliffs overhanging the Italian Riviera? Biking through hilly vineyards? Ancient cheese makers? Squashing grapes? Via Ferratas along the Ligurian Alps? Cooking School? We’re gonna do it all…
