Italy

We love Italy. And once you join us on one of our excursions, sample local cheese, climb an ancient coral reef, have dinner with friends in a mountain hut, pick grapes off the vine during the Impruneta grape festival, or hike through Tuscan fields, you’ll feel the same. Tours can be based in mountain huts and simpler local hotels all the way to 5-star luxury accommodations. Our Tuscan excursions are based in the Chianti region at the Villa la Quercia.

Adventure possibilities in Italy include:

  1. -Skiing in the Dolomites where you can enjoy touring, ski mountaineering, on-piste skiing, helicopter skiing and even ice climbing.

  2. -Hut to hut ski mountaineering on the Ortler Traverse - A classic week long tour.

  3. -Summer time rock and via ferrata climbing on towering limestone walls and needles.

  4. -Tuscan villa stays with cooking classes, visits to Florence and walking, biking and climbing.

Italy

Our programs this fall include:

September 2010 -  Tuscan Culinary - Hiking, biking, cooking school at Villa La Quercia, and the Impruneta Festa Dell’ Uva (Grape Festival). Explore culinary traditions, sample local food.

October 2010 - Riviera Multi-Sport - Programs centered around local food culture in Tuscany, Piemonte, Alto Adige, Liguria & Aosta. There will be a week of climbing and hiking in and around the Cinque Terre and Liguria regions. The last week of October focuses on events surrounding Slow Food International’s Terra Madre & Salone del Gusto events in Torino. Sample local and international cuisine, discuss global food issues, and get to know local producers. We will intersperse the week with adventures around Torino including city tours, walks in the countryside, bike riding and hiking, via ferrata and rock climbing.
